Ladies - Written and directed by Carol Stevens Public location….. Private acts… Moments of intimacy, crisis and transformation in an Edwardian Ladies’ Public Cloakroom … Ladies come and go… insignificant objects are left behind. All is silently witnessed by the attendant, who carefully preserves these small discarded fragments of women’s hidden lives. Produced in collaboration with Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Selected to screen in competition at Brest European Short Film Festival 2004, the Female Eye Festival Toronto 2005 and the Moondance Festival Colorado. Carol Stevens has made two previous short films: her first, Clutch, made under the aegis of the Film Council’s Digital Shorts scheme has been selected for distribution by British Council. Her second film Lazy Eye (also made with BOVTS) won the HTV South West Award at Brief Encounters 2003.
